Do not confuse Kokum (Garcinia indica), which is red/purple and widely used in Konkan/Goa for drinks like Sol Kadhi, with Kudampuli (Garcinia cambogia), which is dark brown/black, pot-shaped, and used in Kerala fish curries. Both belong to the same genus and are often collectively referred to as Kokum.
