The Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) is a projective test utilizing ambiguous images of people and scenes to elicit narratives from individuals. Through projection, these stories expose the test-taker's inner thoughts, feelings, motives, emotions, and conflicts. Unlike the Rorschach Inkblot Test (inkblots) or the MMPI (a structured questionnaire), the TAT uniquely focuses on storytelling for psychological assessment.
