Model Answer (alternate):
TACKLING WIDESPREAD UNEMPLOYMENT
— By a Student
Every year, millions enter India's workforce, but job creation has not kept pace with this demographic wave. One effective solution is scaling up rural employment guarantee schemes and linking them to asset creation — roads, irrigation, and afforestation — so the work itself builds long-term capacity. Another is promoting Skill India-type programmes at the district level, matching local youth to local industry demand rather than generic training. Foreign and domestic investment in manufacturing, through ease-of-doing-business reforms, can also open large numbers of factory jobs. Equally important is supporting self-employment: simplified GST compliance and collateral-free loans let small entrepreneurs hire others as they grow. Unemployment is not solved by one policy alone but by a combination of skilling, investment, and support for small enterprise, sustained over years rather than announced once and forgotten.
