A Noble Initiative: Reading Club for Slum Children
By Ramesh / Ranjita, Local Correspondent
Senior citizens in our colony have launched a commendable Reading Club for slum children to support their educational development. This initiative involves two hours of voluntary service every Sunday morning.
Activities include helping children read their school textbooks, conducting comprehension quizzes, and reading newspapers to encourage discussion and information sharing. The club provides academic support while also developing critical thinking and communication skills.
Such community-driven efforts highlight the transformative power of education in bringing about positive social change. This Reading Club clearly demonstrates how small initiatives can make a meaningful difference in the lives of underprivileged children.
