Model Answer (alternate):
SHOULD SCHOOL EDUCATION BE PRIVATIZED?
— By a Student
Privatization has reshaped Indian school education over the past two decades. Its clear advantage is resource availability: private schools can invest in labs, sports facilities, and technology far faster than most government schools, and teacher accountability tends to be stronger where parents are paying customers. Yet this comes at a cost. Privatization risks turning education into a commercial product rather than a public good, excluding children whose families cannot afford rising fees. It can also deepen the gap between well-funded urban private schools and under-resourced rural government ones. A balanced policy would combine the efficiency private schools offer with strong government oversight — mandatory RTE-quota admissions, fee regulation, and continued public investment in government schools — so that private growth does not come at the expense of educational equality.
