From approximately January 2011 to October 2012, under the UPA-II government, Salman Khursheed (3) was responsible for both the Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of Minority Affairs. Present (2024): These ministries are now separate entities. The Ministry of Jal Shakti (Water Resources) is currently led by Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Kiren Rijiju heads Minority Affairs.
