The Indus Valley Civilization, also known as the Harappan Civilization, belongs to the Bronze Age.
This civilization flourished approximately from 3300 BCE to 1300 BCE.
The people of this era were skilled metallurgists and used several metals:
- They widely used Copper.
- They mixed Copper with Tin to produce Bronze, which was used for tools, weapons, and sculptures.
- They also used precious metals like Silver and Gold for ornaments.
The use of Iron began much later in the Indian subcontinent, during what is known as the Iron Age, around 1000 BCE.
Therefore, Iron was the metal that was not used by the people of the Indus Valley Civilization.
