Bone marrow lymphoid stem cells generate two primary immune cell types: natural killer (NK) cells and B lymphocytes. NK cells, part of the innate immune system, offer rapid responses to infected or cancerous cells. B lymphocytes, components of the adaptive immune system, produce antibodies. Platelets and neutrophils, conversely, originate from myeloid stem cells rather than lymphoid stem cells.
