Bama and Zitkala-Sa both experienced discrimination because of their social standing and heritage. They used education to overcome unfair treatment, even though it was difficult. Bama was motivated by her brother, Annan, to study diligently and fight against caste discrimination. Zitkala-Sa, while also dealing with racism and cultural suppression, preserved her identity by being strong and by learning. Their experiences prove that education helps people fight for fairness and equality.
