Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who later became the 11th President of India, was an aerospace scientist who played a pivotal role in India's civilian space program and military missile development.
He was the chief executive of the Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP), which was responsible for the development and operationalization of key Indian missiles like Agni and Prithvi.
Due to his immense contribution and leadership in this field, he is widely known as the Missile Man of India and is considered the father of Indian Missile Technology.
Dr. Vikram Sarabhai is known as the father of the Indian space program.
