Mammalian females show two broad patterns of reproductive cycling, and the trick here is to know which one applies to people. Most non-primate mammals run an $estrous$ cycle: receptivity is restricted to a heat period, and an unused uterine lining is simply resorbed without external bleeding. Primates including humans run a $menstrual$ cycle instead, in which the unused endometrium is visibly shed as bleeding and there is no fixed heat window. Within the human menstrual cycle we describe the events ovary side as the ovarian cycle (follicular then luteal phase) and the uterus side as the endometrial or uterine cycle (proliferative, secretory and menstrual phases). So menstrual, ovarian and endometrial cycles are all genuine human cycles, whereas the estrous cycle belongs to other mammals and is not found in humans.
