Step 1: Separate deposition from diagenesis.
Deposition is how and where a particle first comes to rest. Diagenesis is everything that happens to the sediment afterward, while it sits buried, right up to the point it would turn into a metamorphic rock.
Step 2: Sort the four processes into these two groups.
Dolomitization swaps calcium carbonate for the mineral dolomite using fluids moving through an already buried rock. This clearly happens after burial, so it is diagenetic.
Flocculation is clay particles sticking together in salty water so that they can settle out. This decides how the sediment is laid down in the first place, so it belongs to deposition, not diagenesis.
Neomorphism is a mineral recrystallizing into a new, often coarser crystal of a similar composition. This kind of change happens to buried sediment, so it counts as diagenesis.
Cementation glues loose grains together by filling the gaps between them with new mineral growth. This is a classic diagenetic step that turns loose sediment into solid rock.
Step 3: Collect the diagenetic ones.
Dolomitization, neomorphism, and cementation happen after burial. Flocculation happens at the moment of settling, so it stands apart from the other three.
