Methods for regulating childbirth can be broadly categorized as:
(i) Barrier methods: These involve the use of physical devices like condoms, diaphragms, cervical caps, and Copper-T.
(ii) Chemical methods: These include the use of spermicidal jelly by women, oral pills, and vaginal pills.
(iii) Surgical methods: In surgical interventions, a small segment of the vas deferens in males or the oviduct in females is surgically removed or tied off. This procedure is termed vasectomy in males and tubectomy in females.
