Approach: Match phenotype to chromosomal syndrome.
Given features: Webbed neck + short stature + low posterior hairline.
Turner syndrome (45,X):
- Webbed neck (pterygium colli)
- Short stature (most consistent feature)
- Low posterior hairline
- Shield chest, widely spaced nipples
- Cubitus valgus
- Primary amenorrhoea, streak gonads
- Congenital lymphoedema in neonates
Differentiating other syndromes:
- Down (Trisomy 21): flat nasal bridge, epicanthal folds, Brushfield spots
- Patau (Trisomy 13): cyclopia, holoprosencephaly, polydactyly
- Edwards (Trisomy 18): clenched fists, rocker-bottom feet
None of the above syndromes feature webbed neck as a defining characteristic.
