Step 2: Method's Foundation. This method assesses age-related dental degeneration. It examines six factors:
Attrition (biting surface wear).
Periodontosis (gum recession).
Secondary dentin development.
Cementum buildup on the root.
Root resorption.
Root transparency.
Step 3: Age Range. These changes are gradual, increasing with age in adults. The method is most accurate for adults, specifically those above 21 years old, after their permanent teeth have erupted and begun to show wear and other age-related changes. It is not suitable for children, adolescents, or fetuses, whose age is estimated using developmental milestones like tooth eruption and bone fusion.
