Oil from Seeds
Vegetable oils are extracted from the seeds and fruits of various plants grown around the world, ranging from tiny sesame seeds to large, juicy coconuts. Oils are produced from cotton seeds, groundnuts, soybeans, and sunflower seeds. Olive oil is commonly used for cooking, salad dressing, and more. Olives are shaken from the trees and collected, usually by hand. The olives are ground into a thick paste, which is spread onto special mats. These mats are then stacked onto a pressing machine that gently squeezes them to extract the olive oil.
