Oxygenated blood travels to the heart via the pulmonary veins. These veins transport oxygen-rich blood from the lungs to the left atrium.(ii) Deoxygenated Blood to the Heart:
Deoxygenated blood reaches the heart through the superior and inferior vena cavae. These vessels deliver oxygen-poor blood from the body to the right atrium.Deoxygenated blood enters the right atrium.
It is then pumped from the right atrium into the right ventricle.
The right ventricle subsequently pumps the deoxygenated blood through the pulmonary artery to the lungs for oxygenation.Therefore, deoxygenated blood from the right atrium is sent to the lungs for oxygenation via the pulmonary artery.
