Charvak Darshana, also known as Lokayata Darshana, is an ancient Indian materialistic and atheistic philosophy. It rejects the Vedas, metaphysical concepts, and the notion of an afterlife, asserting direct perception (pratyaksha) as the sole valid source of knowledge. This philosophy advocates materialism and hedonism, defining life's primary goal as seeking happiness and avoiding pain, based on the belief that existence is confined to the physical world.
