In frogs, the renal portal system is a distinctive venous network. Blood originating from the hind limbs and tail is channeled into the renal portal veins, which subsequently lead to the kidneys prior to its return to the heart. This anatomical arrangement facilitates the filtration of blood from the lower body by the kidneys before it enters the general circulatory system. This system differs from the hepatic portal system, which establishes a connection between the intestines and the liver.
