In numerous Indian regions, agriculture remains primarily for sustenance, not financial gain.
Farmers cultivate crops mainly for their own consumption and local distribution, eschewing large-scale commerce.
This restricts income generation and the adoption of advanced technologies.
Inadequate Land Reforms:
Uneven land distribution and diminutive, divided landholdings impede productivity.
A significant number of farmers are landless or operate on marginal plots, lacking ownership and stability.
Measures such as land consolidation and revised tenancy regulations have not been completely enacted.
