Abruptly, another aircraft appeared, its pilot signaling for him to follow. This offered a glimmer of hope, as the pilot was on his final fuel tank, with only approximately five to ten minutes of flight time remaining. Subsequently, the other pilot began descending, and he followed suit. Emerging unexpectedly from the clouds, he sighted the runway and successfully landed his aircraft.
